2020 Wordplay “41 Across” Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

When we headed into the 2020 Vintage no-one knew what was waiting around the corner.  In response to the CoVid 19 threat the world was changing in a way we had not witnessed.  Luckily, winemaking as an Agricultural Industry was deemed an essential industry and Barossans were able to pursue their livelihood largely unabated.  The Cabernet pretty much did the same and responded harmoniously to a dry, yet mild ripening season. The bunches were plucked from the vines in early March and early indication were that the results were destined to be memorable.

Dark red colour with blackberry nip aromas alure with the added complexity of bouquet garni.  A pure palate of mulberry and cassis with a hint of dried violets and cocoa powder quietly assure this wine as it finishes with finely polished tannins
