The Story

Twenty-five years ago, Matthew and Fiona fell in love with the Barossa and its community. So much so, they chose to raise their family here. They also happen to believe the region is the ideal place to produce the red wine styles they admire.

Matt and Fiona took a leap of faith some years ago to buy a vineyard of their own and have been learning from the ground
up how to produce wine they want to share with friends.

After 12 years, they bottled their first vintage – wines that reflected the potential they saw in the vineyard all those years ago.

“As far as authenticity goes, it’s absolutely who we are!”
says Matt.

Matthew and Fiona acknowledge that good wine facilitates good conversation with good company. Their love of playing with words and realisation that ‘Marananga’, their sub-region, is an anagram of ‘An Anagram’ is the source of their laughter and conversations to remember.

Wordplay Wines is about fun and enjoyment however
they also come from and encourage deeper thought.
