2019 Wordplay “An Anagram” Barossa Valley Shiraz

$90.00

The lead into 2019 Vintage was a dry yet mild growing season. Shiraz is a hardy variety and
came into its own in this sun-blessed Barossa summer. Small bunches and small berries were
in perfect balance with the lean and hardened canopy. The ripening period was warm but
even and the flavours and tannins developed glowingly. We harnessed the fruit as it was
ready in late February. The berries were dripping with intense flavour and bled the darkest of
juice …. The adage of “low quantity/high quality” really held true in 2019 as the ferments
darkened the small tonnage stainless steel vats but delighted our palates at every stage of the winemaking process.

This wine is a cracker!! ….. Rich, Fleshy fruit and lasting leathery tannins that lacquer and
intrigue. A true reflection of what the Barossa is famed for and the sub-region of Marananga
can deliver in Spades.

Music: “We are the Champions” by Queen …… Born and bred Barossa Shiraz is in a class of
its own.

Read: “Kings in Grass Castles” by Mary Durack ….. the Australian epic of endurance and
tenacity to conquer adversity. Shiraz will always find a way!
