2022 Wordplay "Connections" Barossa Valley Grenache

$60.00

One of the great benefits of a career in Winemaking is the involvement of the broader industry community.  It is like no other sector that I have worked in.  The collective good of a region is often more prized than individual accolades.  The term “Competitor” is anachronistic.  If you like someone else’s wine and you want to find out what they are doing differently to make it better, all you need do is ask them.  They’ll l tell you!  Knowledge is shared in the spirit of lifting the community that ultimately has helped individuals achieve their goals.  “Connections” and a willingness to help others has been a huge part of our success at WordPlay.

Looking for a medium bodied wine to complement our Shiraz and Cabernet we honed in on Grenache and through our “Connections” we were fortuitously offered a small parcel of Single Vineyard Old Bush Vine … some of Barossa’s finest.

The colour is vibrant ruby red with joyfully lifted aromatic nose of rosehip.  Plump red fruits on the palate with an earthy ferrous twang makes it voluptuously alluring whilst retaining its innate Grenachiness (yep …. That is a word!!)

Music: “Connected” by Stereo MC …… the writing’s on the wall!!

Read: “On Any Ordinary Day” by Leigh Sales ….. whenever you wake up, you’ll never know how it will end or what “Connections” you will make along the way.
